Mission & Policy StatementHGIC 9998 The mission of the Clemson Extension Home & Garden Information Center (HGIC) is to provide South Carolina residents with a source of accurate, dependable and unbiased information via a toll-free number (1-888-656-9988) and a comprehensive website (http://hgic.clemson.edu). This service is designed to complement the network of county Extension agents, Ag assistants and volunteer Master Gardeners by freeing the agents to deal with commercial agriculture and horticulture questions and to conduct programming for larger audiences. The HGIC also provides over 600 fact sheets on horticulture, food safety, and nutrition for distribution to residents. The HGIC is staffed with highly qualified, degreed experts in both horticulture and food safety and preservation. It is our policy to assist homeowners and landscape professionals in the following areas:
