Choose a container with proper drainage. Place no more than a ¼-inch layer of small stone in the bottom to retain soil. (optional, not required)
Add an initial thin layer of garden or potting soil. Spread the soil evenly and lightly pat down.
Continue to fill the container with garden or potting soil. Spread soil evenly and do not overfill the container.
Time to plant. Planting depth and spacing is important.
Create an inviting atmosphere and a story to tell.
The possibilities are endless. Experiment!
