To see video click here: How to Build Your Own Miniature Garden

Step 1:

Choose a container with proper drainage. Place no more than a ¼-inch layer of small stone in the bottom to retain soil. (optional, not required)

Step 2:

Add an initial thin layer of garden or potting soil. Spread the soil evenly and lightly pat down.

Step 3:

Continue to fill the container with garden or potting soil. Spread soil evenly and do not overfill the container.

Step 4:

Time to plant. Planting depth and spacing is important.

Step 5:

Decorate!

Step 6:

Create an inviting atmosphere and a story to tell.

The possibilities are endless. Experiment!

Miniature gardens are easily scaled to fit any design space.
