Clemson Extension Wants Your Input

Interest in home gardening has flourished throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, Clemson Extension’s Horticulture team is evaluating the best ways to meet the growing public demand for gardening knowledge.

Consumer Horticulture Extension Agents focus on everything related to home gardening. These days, home gardening encompasses many different areas of interest, from growing fruits, vegetables, and herbs to establishing pollinator habitats and building healthy lawns. Indoor gardening with houseplants and patio gardening in containers are also surging in popularity.

To better understand the needs of all South Carolinians, the Horticulture team is conducting a statewide needs assessment survey. Your feedback from the survey will help the team better understand all citizens’ interests in home horticulture.

Clemson Extension was established in 1914 to provide unbiased, research-based education to the people of South Carolina. “Even if you have never gardened before but have an interest, we would like your input,” says Cory Tanner, Horticulture Program Team Director for Clemson Extension. “Hearing South Carolinians’ voices ensures we deliver the gardening information you want and need in the best ways possible.”
