Ambrosia beetles are small wood-boring insects that target over 100 species of trees and shrubs, primarily attacking stressed or dying plants. While most species cause little harm, the invasive redbay ambrosia beetle spreads laurel wilt, a lethal fungal disease. These beetles create noodle-like frass tubes on tree trunks, a key sign of infestation. Since treatment options are limited, proper plant care is the best defense against ambrosia beetle damage.
