This is a juvenile brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB)(Halyomorpha halys). The BMSB is native to Asia and was first reported in South Carolina in 2011. It is a pest of numerous agricultural crops, including peaches, tomatoes, corn, and beans. They are also a structural pest, making their way into homes in search of a place to overwinter. To distinguish BMSBs from other stink bugs, look for the white bands on their legs and antennae. Read more about BMSBs here. Information on managing them in structures can be found here.
