National Oatmeal Cookie Day

It’s Oatmeal Cookie Day! Oatmeal cookies have been around for years. Although our modern-day version is much sweeter, oatcakes and oatmeal cookies share many of the same ingredients, including spices, nuts, and raisins.

Oats are an excellent source of iron and fiber (see HGIC 4052, Fiber) which explains why oatmeal cookies are the healthiest type of cookie! So, make a homemade batch on April 30th, 2022, to celebrate Oatmeal Cookie Day!

Share Some Cookies

Ways to Celebrate: Whether baking them at home or purchasing from a bakery, National Oatmeal Cookie Day can be best celebrated by sharing with friends, family, and other loved ones! Give a treat to your kids’ teacher, say thank you to your delivery driver, whomever you feel the need to share with, just do that! It will surely brighten their day.

Add a New Twist to The Recipe

Host a National Oatmeal Cookie Day Recipe

Coordinate with coworkers or family and friends to have an oatmeal cooking baking contest. Have anyone who’s interested bake up their favorite recipe and bring it to work. Then have a contest with judges to see which one is the favorite. Use the leftover cookies to create a delicious cookie buffet in the breakroom at work.
