The Atlanta Botanical Garden opened in 1976 adjacent to Piedmont Park at 1345 Piedmont Avenue NE in Midtown Atlanta. It now covers 30 beautifully landscaped areas with plans to add an additional 8 acres in the near future.
Earth Goddess Detail
Barbara H. Smith, ©2024 HGIC, Clemson Extension The Earth Goddess is located in the Cascades Garden. She is planted with 18,000 live annuals that are trimmed weekly. As the focal point of the Cascades Garden, this 25-foot sculpture was the highlight of the 2013-14 Imaginary Worlds exhibition. Created by Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal, Earth Goddess, with her flowing locks and out-held hand spilling with water, became part of the Garden's permanent collection after the exhibition closed. During the holiday season, her hair shines with thousands of lights, transforming her into the Ice Goddess.
