Dark chocolate and strawberries are both great sources of fiber, antioxidants and minerals. The freeze-dried strawberries also have the ability to last longer than fresh strawberries, preserving the bark’s flavor.

  • Prep time: 12 minutes
  • Cook time: 3 minutes
  • Total time: 15 minutes

Ingredients Needed for Chocolate Strawberry Bark

  • 3.5 oz dark, semi-sweet, or milk chocolate bar
  • 4.5 oz white chocolate bar
  • 14 dehydrated strawberry pieces
  • Heart-shaped silicone or plastic candy mold

How to Make Valentine’s Day Chocolate Strawberry Bark

  1. First, break the dark chocolate (or chocolate of choice) into pieces and place it into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, then repeat, stirring every 30 seconds, until the chocolate is melted. About 1.5 minutes. Do not overheat, or it will burn.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of melted chocolate into each segment of your mold.
  3. Refrigerate for 5 minutes.
  4. In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate using the same process in step 2.
  5. Repeat steps 3 & 4, layering the white chocolate on top of the dark chocolate, then top with freeze-dried strawberry and refrigerate for another 4-5 minutes.
  6. Remove chocolate strawberry bark from the molds and drizzle with the remaining white and dark chocolate.
  7. Enjoy!

Note: These ingredients are completely customizable to your preferences. There are many variations of freeze-dried/fresh fruits, chocolates and silicone molds.

Proper Storage for Chocolate Strawberry Valentine’s Heart Bark

While these are simple and delicious treats, it is important to store them properly to prolong their quality. It is recommended to store up to 7-10 days in an airtight container at room temperature. Refrain from refrigerating to prevent the freeze-dried strawberries from absorbing moisture.
